Fuel pump replacement
Question??? My fuel pump sprung a leak around one of the electrical terminals so need to replace it and the filter.. My question is? Which of the 2 soft lines to a valve next to the pump is the one from the gas tank? I clamped the big one shut with a pair of vice grips but a lot of fuel still drains out. Do I need to clamp both of them and what is the other line? A return line?? Also I didnt get new copper crush washers, Should I replace these at the same time. Thanks in advance.

I replaced mine several months ago and from what I remember, I clamped both lines. As for the crushed washers, you most definately should replace them. If you don't, you run a good chance of having a leak. No sense in going under the car twice. It is a fairly easy repair, as long as the nuts and bolts aren't rusted. I sprayed WD40 on them the night before I did the work and everything came off with no problems. Good luck.
