That's a beautiful specimen Ron. I couldnt find it in the Members Gallery! I guess the hood's pad is still in your garage!. Are those 140K miles original? Immaculately kept. Congrats.

droooooooollll!

I love the car ( pity it's not a Euro but hey! nothing's perfect!) but seriously it'a really great looking motor.

Is the shiny ( chrome of s/s) gear selector cover original? Mine's just black

Cheers

Jim

yes and no , I got an old publication that was from germany and the interior showed the chrome gear shift selector, I set out to find one and did. So I am not sure if the ones in the states had the chrome or not, but evidently some in germany did, and yes I need euro front headlamps

Pearl is a beautiful lady. I like the wheel covers and whitewalls on a white car. Wheel covers are also white on this one.

Looks Great!!! Interior is real sharp! Is that shifter gate polished? Did it come that way factory? I have a 75' 450 SL... all black....Redoing the interior myself now....ALOT of work....Dying the carpets now to match the unfaded seats...but I will have to Dye theMB vinyl as well...still see a color variation.... but I also notice a few things diffrent from the 75 sl comp to yours... Id love to see them side by side .. Good Luck at the car shows......

I guess technically they should be white, I just liked the contrast, I had to paint them so I decided on black

I cant stand the thought of one of those black fiber pads that I have to glue on , any other product that woul d work, not look bad and last. They decay over time and you are left with a mess

I think that is the only choice. If you don't drive it much the heat may not damage the paint. But it also deadens the engine noise.
