560SL rear speakers DIY in audio forum
 

I hope this isn't out of line, but I just posted a thread on putting speakers in the rear side panels of my 560SL in the Audio forum, and thought it might be interesting for SL owners considering a similar project. I've only found a couple of side panel installs here, most being package-shelf projects, and none with the kinderseat in place.

Wow, what a quality installation. I look at doing something like this but didn't have the guts or talent. My problem was that I have my THREE dogs on the back shelf a lot, and the cheap grilles they sell now couldn't stand up to them. You can't really find quality 6x9" metal grilles anymore. So I made my own, with perforated aluminum grilles and wooden "picture frame" surrounds.
