Catalytic Replacement 86-89 560SL

Hi all,
There is such a wide array of manufacturers for this part. Being that its an expensive replacement, is there any supplier you would recommend...I dont want to go for the cheapest if its of lower quality.

If your pipes are still good, you can have a muffler shop cut the old converter out and weld a new Magnaflow in. They breathe a lot better then the OEM or older converters. So your car will have more power and use less gas, and you'll save quite a bit. Even if your pipes are shot, you can find some place that will bend pipes and weld the cat in for you, and you should still end up ahead.

BTW, if your cat is original, there are people on Ebay paying good money for cats and extracting the platinum .

to CAT or not to CAT

Hi there SGH86_560SL

You could always got for the NON-CAT solution, use a Euro (original) type system without a CAT.

I seem to think that you can do this in NY state and if you can it will go better (less gas more power) and save a you a packet!

cheers

Jim
