need a part for hard top on 82 380SL
Happy Holidays to all! I am getting ready to re install my hard top. I need the metal plate that is attached to the rear of the hard top on the underside. it is approz 3 inches wide and is the same length and shape as the rear base of the hard top, it has a go-zillion screws attaching it. This is rusted out and I don't want to put the hard top back on until it is replaced. Where can I find one? Does anyone out there have one that is not rusted out?

Have you tried the dealer?
HT's are available on the auction sites, and can be had for a handsome sum, but every once in a while, one goes cheap (recently one in Hickory NC went for under $200). The back glass alone is near $1000! You can get the part number form your dealer, or the EPC, if you register.
