what great weather for going topless

Hi all

In the UK we've had almost a year of naff ( sorry for those over the water -not very good) weather

BUT

For the past 4 weeks or so it's been dry and sunny ( not too warm but the 107's heaters are well up to it) so It's been driving round with the top off and loving it.:D

It's times like this that you realise why you bought a roadster.

Happy Days

Jim

I am doing the same here in Texas, on my 85 SL , what a car for a beautiful weather like that.

I'm in sunny florida on the east coast and the top is off of mine for almost 300 days out of the year. I did just fix the a/c for the hot days in July and August, but rarely use it. Nothing beats a drive down A1A in the evening on the east coast!

We got your "british" weather

I just put the hardtop back on mine Monday. We got blasted here on the northern California coast by the remnants of the typhoon that blasted Japan last week.
24 hour rain totals in the San Francisco area ranged from 1.5 inches in the inland areas to as much as 10 inches in parts of the coastal mountain ranges! Lighter rain is expected to last most of today and possibly tomorrow.
Rain was accompanied by wind up to 70+ MPH.A semi truck traveling on one of the bridges over San Francisco bay was flipped by what were estimated at 75 MPH gusts crushing a car in the next lane!
Enjoy your "topless time"

greenday said it all

Hi all

I shouldn't have spoken so soon should I?

As my favourite band said - "Summer has come and PAST"!!

It's now been drizzley rainy colder & damp - typical UK Autumn. Not even a decent day to pull the 107 out of the garage and give her a wax.

It's about now (start of party season - Halloween - pre-Christmas - Christmas - New Year -etc)- that I get the urge to put the hardtop on or else my better half says - I can't go out in "that" to the party:( else it'll mess my hair and it's too cold in "this party dress". So it's probably on with the tin lid this weekend.

On a plus point , it's just like having another different car.:D

Cheers

Jim

Hi Jim,

What indeed went wrong with the weather in England? The only rain I've seen all year was when we went on holiday in Cornwall in July... I'm sorry to report that the rest of the time here in Holland it was great:- We're not that far away - I just don't get it...

My hardtop went back up last weekend. She'll get a full detailing this week as well as other prep for the winter. It's so sad having to put her away, but it's getting to tbe that time of year that the truck comes back out and on the road.

top on

Hi

Oh no, I'll not be putting her away for the winter - just not cruising in the sun so much. I'll be drifting the back end out round the roundabouts -making sure the ABS actually works and giving the MX-5's a run for their money - Oh no - not away - just used differently AND keeping warm.

Apart from anything else I'll be able to hear the music better and hold a serious conversation with my better half and as I said previous - we'll be going to parties in (107) style without "someone" moaning about having to wear an overcoat over a cocktail dress!

Cheers

Jim
