Question 97 SL500 (Hick-up?)

Hi

My 97 SL, when sitting at a light, seems to lose power for an instance and straightens right out again. Is this a common problem, or should I start looking for a fix/repair, before it becomes a problem. Other than that, it runs great. 107000 miles, 18-22 MPG on the road.

JD

My '96 does the same thing. RPM's drop a bit and, then come back up. The engine does not miss or run rough. I believe that it is a system health check. Every so often, the brain retards the cam timing briefly, and then looks for an expected change in the reading from the oxygen sensors.

For JD 1997 SL500

JD, I thought I would let you know that I just came across all four O2 Sensors for your SL500. In case you are interested or need them. I purchased some parts from a 1997 that was damaged in 1998 with 5K miles on it and the exhause system including all four sensors were in storage for past 12 yrs. If you are interested, give me a call. This vehicle has show room tan seats available as well. Steve 216-403-7074 or fazekas@baxter.com
