1994 SL320 questions/issues please help

I just bought a 1994 MB SL320 and I need some help. I'm not terribly mechanically savvy but I can follow instructions. This is my first MB.

I have a hardtop and my soft top indicator light stays on or blinks. It's done both. Thinking maybe the top wasn't secure I tried locking the hardtop and out of the passenger side, where the top edge of the windshield meets the hardtop, fluid starts spewing out. Thinking it was rainwater at first, it's oily, hydraullic fluid I'm guessing. What do I do????

You have a common problem. There have been very many posts on how to resolve issues with leaky hydraulic cyclinders, including how to remove and replace them and places which rebuild the seals for much less $ than buying new. Also, there is information on how to reset the controller which operates the top and is causing your lamp to flash. It's not the end of the world and it shouldn't be too expensive to repair if you are a bit of a mechanic. Use the forum search box to find previous solutions to these problems.
