380 SL 84 New Timing chain question
 

My timing chain was showing about 12 Deg stretch. A new timing chain and upper rails as well as a new tentioner have been installed........the stretch check now shows about 6 Deg. And there is a noticable click/tick with the engine idling. Any recommendations?

Make certain that you have installed the NEW cam oiler fittings on the towers correctly (all the way) and that all the oilers are spraying oil when the engine is running.

Changing the stretch may have made a marginal shim out of the margins. You need a tool and a bit of skill to select the correct shim. This assumes that the cams and rockers are in good shape.
