1989 560SL sun visor problem

on a 1989 560SL, there is a plastic clip that holds the sun visor to the roof of the car. Unfortunately the plastic clip keeps breaking and nobody sells this part separately, and i have to keep buying the whole sun visor ($250 a pop). Anybody know where i can purchase this plastic clip? i hate to have to spend anot her 250.

Try Star Quality Parts

Star Quality Parts have the clip listed at $3.50. Go to http://www.starqualityparts.com/ select the 107 option. In the search, pick category Interior and leave all other choiuces blank, then scroll to the last page - about item 41 of 43.

I think that's what you're looking for.

Based on the picture they have, that part looks like the female piece that mounts to the windshield header, not the plastic clip that fits into that piece.

A cheap workaround is to buy the clip from a 126 Chassis. You would need to completely remove the broken clip and replace the female piece in the windshield header with the 126 clip. I've done this with my passenger visor. My driver's side visor recently broke (again) and I've temporarily removed it. I'm too tall to use it anyway.

I was given a lead about a guy who had designed a replacement clip, but he hasn't responded to my emails. How hard could it be to design a replacement piece?

107 Sun Visor Clip

Hi
Sorry for resurrecting such an old thread, but the link to Star Quality Parts appears to be defunct.

Any other suggestions as to where this little buggar might be had?

(I can almost handle the $3.50)

Thanks

Would you happen to have any of those visors that you replaced just sitting around? I have an SL that could certainly give them a good home!

Send me an email if you want to sell them.

try this guy

I bought two clips, that go on the visor and clip onto the female piece in the windshield header.

Cost was $10 per set plus $2 shipping back when I bought them.

Please state color desired.

I think I'm looking for a Gal!

I was actually looking for the female half of the set.
I'm not sure which piece is more worn, the male or female piece. I'll have to double check that.

(if it's anything like life in general, the male piece probably wore out first lol)

EQUALITY

I looks to me like both ends of the Sun Visor clip equation are equally worn.

I'm getting the male side from Frank.
Thanks for the great lead.

Still looking for the other half.
