sluggish 280 engine follow up
I posted this problem on 6/21 and got a suggestion of bad vacuum advance or vacuum leaks or bad cat converter.
Here is how i am circumventing the problem. When the car hits 55mph (which is about all it can muster) I set the cruise control and then lift up on the cruise control lever. The car responds and smartly speeds up to whatever speed I choose without downshifting . As long as the cruise is on the car has plenty of power. Any thoughts on how this can be? Thanks Dan |

Yup it was the linkage
Thanks for your advise walrus
Found spring that fits into bracket on fire wall was flopping around due to lack of tension. Did a temp fix with a washer which gets tension back into the linkage Car is back to good performance Will order parts from pelican tomorrow to correctly fix the problem Cost $2 Thanks again Dan |
