560Sl blower pops fuses
My '89 560SL blower will run for a minute or two and then blow the 16A fuse (#6).
Doesn't matter where the blower switch is set, high, low, auto, same result. The blower will cycle through various speeds on auto before it blows the fuse. What should I be looking at first? Disconnect the blower? Can I check any Vdrops? As an aside, the compressor is not engaging. Could it be related?

Update; The fuse has stopped blowing out. Don't know why but not complaining. Taking car back to the indie who recharged the A/C to check it out and make sure he didn't forget something to cause the compressor not to engage.

Well, it stopped blowing fuses.
Don't know why. It seems as if, the hotter the ambient temp., the more likely the fuse will blow. The HOT weather has broken and temps are now in the 70s-80s. Is there a temp sensor in the CKT that might be a culprit?

You need to run a Amp draw test on the system consumers like the blower fan and the aux coolant pump. I use a DVOM and a low amp probe.
Start up amperage can be a little higher than fuse rating and then should drop to around half rated fuse rating. What is factory fuse rating for your a/c system? .
