1987 560SEL problems with jerking when accelarating

Hello and i hope this is the proper place to ask for help just found this forum while searching for some answers. I own a 1987 560SEL my problem is lets say i get onto the highway accelerate 1-60 goes smooth then take foot off gas and it auto breaks when not on the gas which i have gathered is common in Mercedes. So it will slow from like 60 to 45 pretty fast and then when i give it more gas there is an aggressive jerk (from the transmission?) from which i assume is it kicking back into a higher gear. Is this normal? Thank you in advance.

Are you trying to say that something has broken (breaks)?
Or are you saying that the brakes apply by themselves?

[You might try posting this matter to the Tech section, this section is read mostly for matters about SLs (roadsters).]

The breaks apply themselves when the gas is released. I assume that is by design and not broken. I also apologize for posting in the wrong section i will make a new post in the correct section.
