AC Problems
My 1986 300E AC unit will not blow cold. It's 90 degrees here and I need help. The systems is fully charged and the service tech checked for voltage getting to the compressor, found none. He then by passed everything and went directly from the battery to the unit and still the compressor would not fire up. Any advice?
Thanks in advance Mick I love my toys 86 300E 89 560SL 89 Bronco II |

Sounds like the AC clutch is shot. I think it should egage immediately when voltage is applied directly.

Can the clutch just be replaced or do I need to change out the entire unit?

I believe you can get a replacement clutch, or rebuild it, but I have no experiece with that.
