Turn Signal Problems
My 96 320SL with 133k on the clock just started developing a problem with the turn signals. When engaging the right turn, the signal will blink once and the the LEFT signal will engage. Front, back and control panel left blinkers will all engage, even thought the stalk is engaged for the right. When engaging the left turn, it’s works as intended. The hazard lights work normally: front, back and control panel. If the hazards are engaged and the right turn signal is engaged, it still signals left as described above. I just got this car from my elderly father in law who did not notice anything about it. Please help with any suggestions and thanks.

Bad ground connection. Start your diagnosis on the right side of the car by attaching a temporary wire between the front light housing and a known good grounding point to see if the problem goes away. If not, repeat the process with the rear light housing. Report results for more assistance, if needed.

I suspect it's the turn signal switch. If it does turn out you need one and you are interested PM me. I have a really good used one from a 1996 SL600 P/N A129 540 36 44for sale. Will be going up on eBay next week.
