Locking of storage bins
 

The storage bins on our '94 SL500 won't lock when the car is locked either by the remote or by the interior locking mechanism. I'm wondering if maybe one of the vacuum hoses has become disconnected. Any ideas?

As you may know the vacuum is to lock and X amount of blowing-psi is to unlock. I think you already answered your own question! finding the faulty line starts in the trunk, the pump is located in there and has many lines and terminal blocks located with it. Unfortunately there are NO books or CD's that are available 'yet' on this model but will be released this Fall. Good luck.

They will? They haven't released anything for even the 202 or 140 yet. Where'd you hear that? Are they doing more than just 129, maybe 140 and 202 also? Then I can just tell people to buy the discs and they'll stop BOTHERING me! ;) :p (just kidding)

The Books!
 

I like working on my own vehicle and I have books on everything I own, some books are 25 tears old. When I searched (and I mean searched) for a book on 129 chassis I got nowhere so I called MBUSA and I was told that MB doesn't release a "shop manual" until the end of a series. The new SL has changed therefor it should be released by the end of this year as the car is also available, according to them! The CD will come before the book in my understanding.:rolleyes:

The 140 went out of production in 99.
