W129 driver window or hardtop adjustment?
Shutting the drivers door requires a good slam due to either: 1) The window being too high, or 2) The hardtop being too low. You can actually see the window pushing the hardtop up as the door is forcefully shut. This problem is also evident with the softtop, but less pronounced.
A search of this topic yielded some hardtop adjustment info on earlier models, but nothing specific for the w129. I was wondering if the A-pillar rubber seats/seals fatigue or develope a "collapsed" memory over time... My '94 is 10 years old already! Somewhat related... I replaced the drivers-side door check strap yesterday. Wow, what a difference an hour and $23 can make! The smooth solid air-tight thump of a new Mercedes door shut is back!. Now that the door panel is off, I thought this might be a good time to make any possible window adjustments.... Any help is appreciated! Crew
