you have to take off the door panel (which is kinda difficult) and lube up the track. this will help. I did and they are fine.

The windows on a 129 aren't very fast to begin with. When lubed up and working perfectly, they are only about half as fast as the windows on most other cars. It may be by design to allow integration with the top deployment. The grease does dry out over time and a track cleaning and re-lube job was in order for my 1991 SL 2 years ago. But don't expect fast action. The motor and drive gear are a sorta sealed unit. It will draw about 10 to 12 amps going up and about 8 to 10 amps going down. If you aren't blowing the 15 amp fuse in the trunk, you are probably OK.

slow windows
Suggest use WD 40 , put spray tube into crack going into door panel and spray ! Works for me also on stalled windows! Good luck, Abe G

The get it done right... Remove the door panel and clean the dried grease off of the regulator arm. Relubricate with white lithium grease. WD40 sprayed into the door will make a mess and the odor will never go away.

The first job on mine was to replace the drivers side window motor as it would squeal and was much slower than the passengers side.
I tried everything, stripped the door down, removed grease, added white grease cleaned and stil no joy. In the end it was the motor/gear mechanism within the motor assy. Cost 120UKP - and well worth it. If you can stretch to it why not replace both motors and clean and grease the window runners as Tecboy mentions ![]()

WD 40 spray and window mechanisms
I post suggestions ONLY when I have found them to wo rk for me. I resent those knowit alls that contradict these suggestions. There is no lingering odor (otherthan window glass cleaning) STicking mechanisms and no movement at all solved with WD 40 on windows! ( I do not sell WD40). Try before any labor or part investments! Good luck, Abe G
