Cruise Problem
I have a 1986 560SL and have only had an opportunity to drive it about three times since purchasing it last November. I tried the cruise and found it worked and operated normal for about a 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile and then it gave a quick jab to the accelerator and would kick off. I have tried it several more times and it seems to be staying engaged much longer now than when first tried.
However, for some reason now it has happened twice that when I would use the lever to resume instead of just resetting the speed it would take off and floor board the accelerator and go right on by the original set speed and kept right on climbing. It scared the crap out of me before I could get it shut down. I have ready many posts on the cruise problems and of resoldering the amp printed circuit board, but wondered if anyone could shed more light on this for me. It makes me almost afraid to keep trying it. Thank You for any info anyone can give me.

I had the same problem.Try and resolder the board. I did my 380SE this week-end and it works! Take your time and make sure there are no joints touching each other. Just a light touch with the iron until the resin bubbles. Lots of posts on this cure. What have you got to lose.
