Question Typical cost and what is done at a 60k service.

Hey guys, how is everyone?

My 1996 SL500 is due for a 60k service and I just called my independent MB mechanic for a ballpark. He said $600-800 for the 60k service, including the synthetic oil change. I have not called the dealer to compare prices, but I would be they are higher.

Just curious here, is this a typical price for a 60k service? Can anyone specifically list what they do at the 60k service to warrant such a high pricetag? I don't mind spending the money on my baby, but I just want to make sure it is worth it.

Thanks much guys. Feel free to post a list of the "official" checklist items my mechanic should hit so I can make sure he does them all.
