1986 190D 201 body Sunroof problem - HELP!!

OK, I have posted about this twice in the past year, being Colorado I was fine with the non-response. However, I am sellign my wife's 190D (2.5 Diesel) to a fellow list member in St.Louis, MO where the sunroof is a necessity and I'd like to fix this before delivering it to him.

So,
any ideas on how to get to the sunroof (I do have the original MB manual) when it is stuck closed ? The knob in the trunk does not open it.

Is it possible to pop the headliner section off the sunroof and do something ?

I am normally not this anal, if it were EBAY I'd just sell it as is, however the person buying it is a person that is known to me and has bought parts from me before and I desire the best for him.

gracias,

Hari

No Help Jim

I wish I could help you. I have removed the complete sun roof from a couple of 126's. But I was not trying to save the headliner. I will help you keep this thread alive and near the top. goodluck and I am sure somebody can help you. Did you break anything inside the motor/mechanism in the trunk. I can send you one to study if that will help....Jim
