FS: (4) 8-Hole 15" Factory Chrome Rims

I've got a set of MB 15" 8-hole chrome rims for a W124. These are the chrome rims that were sold at the dealer, not aftermarket ones.

Rims are in very good condition, and will have photos to share once I get the rims cleaned.

Looking for $300 for the set + shipping. Includes the chrome center caps and chrome lug nuts as well. These rims lived most/all of their life in California, not here in Ohio where I live.

I'd be very interested in these wheels but I'd want to see the pix first. I'm going to subscribe to the thread so I'll know when you post the photos. I'd also be willing to come pick them up.

Thanks,

Rick,

I will have the pictures posted tonight. I clean the rims yesterday and they look very nice. Only a little bit of corrosion deep inside the "holes".

Wheel Specs

What are the specs on the wheels? I'd be interested, I'm looking for a set for my 1980 450sl. Do you know if they would fit?

Here's a link to photos of three (?) of the
wheels. Too large to post here. Gotta find the
photo of the fourth wheel. Tough to photograph those
wheels, the reflections are tricky.

Not to rain on your parade, but the Mercedes factory does NOT produce chrome wheels/rims since the process actually weakens the structure of the wheel.

In short, Original Equipment (OE) wheels from Mercedes are NOT chromed.

However, since US Dealers are independent they are free to sell chromed wheels. Whatever dealer you purchased this from most likely has an account with a chroming service (just like my local dealer does), so in effect these are aftermarket chromed wheels.

:-) neil

PS: I have a set of chromed wheels . . .

Excellent way of making your point without verbally attacking the seller, very good job.

You should be a diplomat!

I don't feel attacked, he's right. These rims were PROBABLY put on the car at RAB motors before my BIL bought the car. These rims DO HAVE THE STAR next to the part number. They probably were chromed, big deal.

Anyway, they are not aftermarket rims, they are MB parts that were chromed.

Anybody want to buy these rims?????

I'm interested, but I need to know the specs/and/or would they fit on my 1980 450sl?

If I know this, I would consider them.

I know they have the same bolt pattern, and that the offset is 44mm (ET 44). I don't know what offsets your car requires to clear the brakes, but I bet someone in the SL forum could answer that definitively.

These wheels are 15"x6.5", and are genuine MB parts (star on next to the part number).

I'd guess these wheels way 25lbs each but will put them on my home scale in the morning.

The chrome lug bolts ARE INCLUDED, try pricing 20 of those out! $250 for 4 wheels and all the bolts - all of this is a good deal, I believe.
