617 Engine Needed
 

Looking for a replacement engine for my 82 300D. I'd prefer a turbo engine, but I'm willing to consider non if the price and condition are right.

Remarkably, the car is still in good condition with 523,000 showing on the odo. The engine's lower end (bearings?) reached the end of its life!

300D Turbo Engine
 

I have a very nice 1984-300D Turbo Engine Short Block....The front end was wrecked and I drove the car and the transmission shifted like it should....the car came from nashville tn and the owner said it had been in the family for 16 years and it started right up after setting 6 months. I installed a temporary radiator and drove the car... I have parted out the car and I am parting out the engine...I have removed the oil filter housing, intake and exhaust manifold with turbo, fuel pump, alternator, power steering pump, oil pump with oil pump chain...the alternator bracket , crank, oil pan, harmonic balancer, vacuum pump and head are all that are still attached to the block. I have also sold the cam and cam towers... the engine has 120K Jim

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. But I think that if I'm going to go to all the trouble of pulling the head and accys, I'll just overhaul the bottom end of my motor.

I have one that is in Texas. It came from a 84 300D. I believe it will need new lower gaskets and such. I bought it from a guy who got it from a bulk auction. I don't know how it runs though. I pulled each cyl through, and they all had compression. That is about all I can tell you about it. It has no starter, alternator, compressor. It does have water pump, but no pulley. I bought it for an extra just in case. The price was too good to pass up. I have since sold my 300d, and no longer need the engine. I paid $125.00 for it. I will sell it for the same price.
