Where can I find info on the fair market value of a 1980 240D?
I queried the Kelley Blue Book on the web but it goes only until 1981 and the price I got is $1,825. Is that what I should expect to pay or will it likely be more?
Any idea? Any resource or web site?

Quite frankly, that is a ballpark figure
less some hundred dollars for the year difference.
Depending on how pristine condition it is in,
basically you can ask what you want.
In San Francisco, people put all sorts of prices on these
240D and 300D cars of that era.
Some are basic blue book, others are alot higher, but if the car is fantastic in all respects and has
records, a buyer would be happy to fill
his needs and not worry.

Saw one listed in Jacksonville, Fl yesterday for $3500 all it said was "very nice condition"

So, prices are everywhere, but it is worth only what someone is willing to pay for it, so asking price often is inflated.
