WTB: Headlight leveling Kit for W124

Interested in a headlight leveling kit for a 1992 400E, W124 series to be able to aim my retrofitted Hella bi-xenons : ). Need the dashboard switch panel and the level control vacumn switch. Can pay by Paypal right away. My feedback on Ebay under ID: natural_person is 373.

"search" and you WILL find

you don't need this kit to adjust lights. it only works with european headlights.

after market hid kits and re-based hid bulbs are ILLEGAL.

however i have the part numbers posted here...http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=69001

buy this stuff from phil at fast lane and support this website.

a lot less b.s. than you'll get at the stealer.

Peter, I apologize for giving out insufficient info, thus allowing you to jump to certain conclusions. However, given your business of lighting, and what some guys try to get away with, I'm not holding you at fault : )

I did not install an aftermarket HID kit, nor did I install a re-based H4 bulb. Being a mechanical engineer who now spends his days teaching human rights, you can surmise that I'm not interested in setting the car on fire, nor doing someting illegal.

I retrofitted a pair of OEM Hella E55 bi-xenons with Generation 4 Hella ballasts and Hella step-up transformers out of a ML320 into a set of Taiwanese lights that do, in fact, have the vacuum adjustment feature, as per www.2phast.com/500e 's writeup. I want to install the leveling kit because I'm trying to be responsible and not blind someone just because I have 300 pounds in the trunk (which is probably never anyways).

I have tried to build the lights as correctly as possible. 10 gauge, 105 degree wiring from the alternator is fused for 30A , then each headlight is fused again for 15A. Fuseholders are waterproof. Connections are soldered, then heat shrunk. Each headlight has two relays; one to trigger the +12v, the other to switch the +12v to the ballast, depending on whether it gets triggered by low beam or hi beam. 1N5404 diodes prevent back emf from both the bi-xenon shutters' coils and the relays' coils. In all, it was about 70 hours of work.

I also disconnected the factory daytime running lights (mandatory here in Canada) because M-B's definition of DRL in 1992 was low beams at full power, corner light, taillights, and dash lights - apparently about a 20A draw at cranking. I have now retrofitted a DRL module that delays turn-on for 5 seconds after starting, then powers at 75%. I wired the output to the inboard H3's. At 75% power bulb life should be almost infinite : ) (They also come on at high beam, as per the second picture, but they're virtually useless; the pattern is so bad).

And, yes, I DO support this site, and have already emailed Phil for a price. Probably ordering them tomorrow from Phil, where I have spent close to $500 in the last couple of months.

BTW, I'm the guy who just bought a set of taillights and front corners off you : ) Remember, I added $5 for shipping the corners?

All the best,

Eric
