Parting out w116 ('79 300sd)

I've decided to throw in the towel on my '79 300sd as the body is too far gone for me to be able to economically save it. Much as it saddens me this car is going to have to end its days in pieces.

The engine runs great and the transmission shifts fairly well but it does have 245K miles on it. No noticeable blowby on the engine.

The interior is in pretty good condition, front seats being the best and rear bench with no rips but in need of fresh horsehair pad. ACC is of course useless but the panel is still intact.

Some of the body is still good. Doors are relatively rust free and whatever there is, it's not substantial. Hood and trunk are fine.

As for the rest, just ask.

Exterior is cream color with tobacco interior.

Photos can be provided on a request basis. Engine and transmission can be sold whole or separately.

Cheers

Bob

PS. I know Whiskeydan had asked for a few things so he may take priority on a few bits and pieces.

don't forget that the hood and trunk are aluminum and make a nice upgrade for any W116 gas car. Be sure to take the springs along with them, as they are different. -CTH

funny that. I was just in Mississippi today...man it was cold.

Let me do a little research and I'll PM you. Did you want short block (no head no IP) or long block (with)?

Either is fine. Would prefer the long block.
