Talking Unusual estate sale barn find- whats it worth?

So I was rummaging around an estate sale in basically the middle of nowhere earlier, I stumbled upon this huge Mercedes dealer sign and the letters "Benz" in the back of an old dark barn.

The big star sign is actually in pretty good shape, its all there except for the fluorescent lights and a few pieces of plastic on one side. It's 7ft across. I had one hell of a time getting it into a truck.

The BENZ letters are also in good shape except for the "Z" which has a crack in the top side. They measure 3ft x 3ft.

So, I'm curious- does anyone know ballpark what this stuff is worth? Did I waste my money or did I find a fortune?
I'd appreciate ANY input on this.

(excuse the post holding the sign up in this pic)

Unsure of value, but it would look great in my garage. Notice I said in. Neighbors (who have been unusually tolerant over the years) would surely object, especially if I could make it rotate in addition to lighting it.

Might be worth "something" if you find the rest of the sign, but I've heard that the "-" is real hard to come by.

Yea I already put the "BENZ" letters on the wall in my garage, but unfortunately the big round star sign won't even fit through my garage door (2 car garage with one single car door)

That is AWESOME!! How much it cost you? Mount it on the roof and light it up!

Yeah....mount it on a rotating base with it internally lit, put it on your roof....then wait for the Mercedes lawyers to come callin'.

I do like it though......you'll catch some flack if you do mount it outside....somethin' about Copywrite.

It didn't cost me TOO much It was worth unchaining it from the ceiling of the guy's barn, "catching it", and putting it into my truck with about 3 other guys.

Even though I do live out in the country, I'm sure the neighbors would still kill me if I stuck that thing outside

Thats freggin awesome! I would never sell that, nor put a value on it. Its priceless!

I would mount it in the garage as a nite-lite for the cars, so that they are safe.

Truckinik- I'll PM you.

I really want to keep it, but I just haven't found a great place to put it yet.

Put it up on your garage so it rotates! It will be like a beacon calling your cars home.

That's not a dealer sign.

It's the spec hood ornament star for a '69 MOG.

or it should be!

Oh, and here I am thinking the whole time that it's a spinner, for a night club, or something...Instead of a mirror-ball..

hi justin,i just wanted to ask you your opinion on the 190e you have.i just purchased an 86. it drives better than any car ive ever driven. i get almost sad when i have to get out to stop for a long time,i purposely take the long way home now.withh 200,000 on the dash,i just wonder how long it will stay that way.the previous owner did not care for it as one should,or even close to the mercedes standars. it is a beauty though,,,,,money green with bamboo colored interior,,,,and this will be its last home and from here on out,it will get meticulous care.the engine compartment was black when i got it ,,i spent about 10 hours cleaning and detailing it.i thought all of the fgirewall was black even on the sides, till i stuck my finger in about 3/8 in. of blck sooty build up and found out theres only a very small portion that is actually black. wow,,,then i just couldnt stop, and roughly 10 hours later,,,i just cant stop looking at it myself........this is my first benz,,a b-day gift from the wife,,i hope i never have to own a different makers vehicle. i would put my 200k up against any brand new car made by an american company and bet ill go the first next 100 k problem free and the first original 100k on any ford {car} will hav at least one issue and by 200k any ford car within the 30,000 dollar range is virtually worthless. im sold !!! so,dude, is your performing that well also,or did i just get lucky ?? sorry for the long note,im actually looking for reassurance that i got a good deal for 1300 bucks ?
