A 190 5.6? You shoehorned a V8 into the thing? That's a story to tell.

Five years ago put a small block Ford (302") and T5 tranny in an old diesel. Now it's a 342" with the help of a stroker crank and also added aluminum heads with bigger valves. The whole underside has been gone through, upgraded, changed etc. If I get a digital camera may post pics sometime. Will be at Talladega 6/22-23 for the MBCA time trials.

Have you tried w126 from say a 380 or higher, I think they may interchange , as Mercedese did use parts between models
here and there . And they might not cost as much then.(Same with pads in the future they should be cheaper)
Im also looking at upgrading brakes on a w123 wagon with larger disc's (Extra stopping power getting ready for a transplant, 4litre twin cam 32 valve V8, efi 200kw)
