I decided to replace the shocks in my hatchback on an '85 300TD and discovered someone stripped out the hex in the bolts, then they tried using a cold chisel or something on them. I'll get a picture of the horrible results later.
I was able to get them out using vice grips and turning them a few degrees at a time, it made the job of getting the bolts out VERY EXASPERATING
Does anyone have a couple of these? They are accessible by removing the rear ceiling panel where the speakers are mounted, then using the correct hex wrench they come out (hopefully with out wrecking the hex)
HELP! I don't want to use the dealer if I can avoid it.
