FS Class I Hitch for W123

I have a Class I hitch for a 300d that I think fits on other models. It is a receiver with drawbar and ball. To find out more info on it, you can go to www.Etrailer.com and search out #247223 to get the skinny on the unit. It is in xlint condition, but my son does not use it and would rather sell it to help pay for new tires. He wants $110.00 for it, I think they are a lot more new and this one looks real nice. Thanks Bob

hey there,

Have you actually installed this thing on your son's 300D? I have an '81 300D that I'd love to buy it for, but the search function on that e-trailer site you listed doesn't pull that hitch up when I punch in the '81. Can an '81 be that different than an '83 underneath?

thanks,
randy

Body wise, the w123's are pretty much the same.

sorry, I wasn't online yesterday, so I did not see your question. The hitch will fit an 81, because they are the same as an 83 under the rear where it goes.(will even fit my 79) If you go to etrailer.com, and in the search on the upper rt side of the site, you can type in the 247223 and it will give you the info, and a nice picture of the hitch. Bob

[QUOTE=Nowturbo;1578280] #247223 to get the skinny on the unit. /QUOTE]

I called and they told me that this hitch fits 81 - 91 S class MBs, not the D. Any insights?

300TDBioBenz;
Well, I am not going to say that the book that they used to answer you with was in some obscure language, but I am the one that took it off of Ryan's car, and the numbers on the hitch are 247223, an it looks just like the one in the picture on the website. So, I think they are smokin' sumptin' Here is a picture of the hitch, and the car that the hitch came off of. If you need any more info, please don't hesitate to ask. You my contact me direct at skoolboy11@hotmail.com if you like. Have a great day!! Bob
