Set of 18" Mercedes CLS wheels (actually 2 sets)

Okay, as soon as the Roadster arrives I'm going to town on it. It'll be getting wheels/tires first, BUT the CLS wheels are a no-go with the Vogtlands. I know they'll scrape. In fact, I shaved a paper-thin piece of rubber off the drivers side front tire after hitting a BIG pot-hole in the road leaving the Benz Bash...at a "high" rate of speed. My 300CD took a deeper chunk out of the right front. I would officially say that the tires need to be replaced, but I've driven on them a good 1000 miles or so with no other trouble. The interference is the forward edge of the front fenders. Also, the prior owner of this set "ran aground" in an automatic car wash and curbed the passenger side wheels. It's noticable, but nothing that couldn't be painted over or repaired. It just didn't bother me enough to worry about it.

I'm running 5mm spacers on the rear wheels to clear the inner fender. I'm told that running a complete set of 18x8.5 (all fronts) will give you the clearance you need.

I picked up a second set with virtually no curb rash at all, but bald rear tires. I did this to run the full set of 18x8.5's. The rears on both sets are 18x9.5.

Fronts are 245/40/18 ET28 and rears are 275/35/18 ET33.

Here's a couple pics of them on my car:

I will get close up shots of the two sets so that everyone can see exactly what I'm talking about. If I don't see any interest by Thursday the first set will make it onto ebay. The second will follow that one. I don't have a problem of breaking up the sets so that someone can have a complete set of 4 18x8.5" wheels/tires. I'm sure I could sell off the 4 18x9.5's as a set for another vehicle or individually as spares.

I love everything about the CLS, including those wheels. I think my car had those on it at one time. They seem a bit much for a 123 though, aside from the fit.

Your car looks a lot like one of Johnhef's. There's nothing like a nice set of pimpillicious wheels to jazz up a nice car. I love your coupe!

Thanks! You want to buy it? I've only got room for one MB in the driveway...and the Roadster will start its journey south in the next 2 weeks.

If they fit on my 300CD I'm sure they'll fit on your SD as well. There is really only one way to tell though.

Its a damn shame that those CLSs dont fit with the Vogtlands..
I have three 8.5 fronts of the other style CLSs and you have got about as good test info as it gets..bummer.

correction: yeah, yeah..my mistake.

I'd bet if you hook up with Omegabenz and rented his fender roller you could work some magic on your car. I'm not willing to do that to my 280CE Euro, which is why it went on ebay tonite. The new 300CD Roadster will be a better candidate for something like that.

They are CLS wheels. CLK wheels have all the wront offsets for the w123, w126 and R107. CLS wheels fit.

Yeah fender roll them.

Oh don't worry...I'm getting ready to fit CLK wheels...as the 8-holes in my sig didn't fit either at first. They 8-holes were temporary until my 20mm lugbolts came in to mount the CLK's . They hit the tie-rods until some H&R 15mm spacers came into the equation.

I can technically make you a set (if you want 8.5" front and 9.5" rears) with good tires. The front's would be Continentals, the rears Michelins. One rear wheel would have a slight scrape...unless you wanted me to swap one tire/wheel so you had a 4 perfect wheels/tires. I'd ask $700 for that. $500 for the "bad" wheels. I'd dismount the 4 tires if desired.

Oh, and sorry about the bumpers. I'm in love with them...they're moving to the Roadster as soon as I can get it here.

I was toying with the idea of putting my CLS wheels on the SEC but I just put the Lorinsers on it and DAMN! I think they'll stay on there for awhile I guess they'll just have to stay in the shed untill I find another car worthy enough hehehe. I do have two sets though, a set of 4 fronts and a set of 2 each.

so if the car is on ebay with the bumpers, I dont think someone would be happy if you remove them.

How much tread is on the tires and when were they made #### enclosed in an oval, 0505 means 5th week of 2005.

Got the info for you omega:

Front tires are Continental SportContact 2's date code is: 4404 (November '04)

Rear tires are Michelin Pilot HX MXM4's date code is: 2705 (July '05)

All tires look to be 85% or better.
