Anybody be interested in a 1980 500SE for sale? It has 79k miles on it and is in decent condition. It has the euro 500 motor and a full authentic AMG body kit on it. It is black with gold (rather than chrome) trim and emblems. 16 inch Centa 5 spoke rims. It has an SEC front clip on it. (grille, hood and fenders) It runs and drives but would be best used for a restoration. The motor starts right up, but has a high idle. Narrowed down to a vacuum leak. Any offers will be considered. I will email pictures upon request and probably post them later on when I get a chance. I figure I'd put a feeler here to see if it would sell. if no one wants it here it goes on eBay.

Well I bought the car for $1700. That would be the absolute minimum. I have put some work into it. It was my daily driver for about 2 weeks. Then I had to fill it up again. A full tank of premium on a high schoolers salary is quite a bit of money. It has sat in my driveway since then. If someone offers me $2000 it is theirs.

That price is very much not set in stone and I would be willing to negotiate.

How much rust in the front suspension lower control arm bushing housings? the round thick bushing housing at the lower rear of the fender well. how much rust in the jacking points? how much rust in the trunk by the base of rear fender wells?

There is some rust near the bracket for the front lower control arm but is easily accessible and could definitely be fixed. There is rust underneath the front drivers jack point but appears NOT to be structural and from what I have seen there is no rust in the trunk as you asked.

I bumped this in the cars section as well. This post is for parts though. I need this car gone one way or the other. It has a EURO 500SE engine and the interior is gray and is nice shape. It has an SEC front clip on it and an AMG body kit. The kit is in great condition except for the rear bumper part but nothing a little Bondo couldn't fix. I will either sell the car whole or start to part it out. Which ever comes first but I refuse to send it to the crusher with so many good working parts still on it! For shipping quotes, I am in Avon Lake, OH 44012. It is about a 20 minute drive west from Cleveland for refrence.

I forgot to say, just make me an offer on the whole car or the parts you need. Like I said, it needs to go!
