wanna trade a 358 rear for a 346 diff.

anybody need the 358 gear?

That would be for my 240/300d na, my 83 240d with 300d euro non turbo motor.

The 346 is what came in the 300d non turbo models.

I also would be interested in trading my 307 for a 346 but the 307 wont be available until I put in the 346 in the car. The 358 diff I have out of the car.

Maybe .5 inches per driveshaft single RPM

I think that each time the drive shaft turns one revolution that the difference in distance traveled between those 2 driveshafts is about .5 inches.. It looks like just a change in the tire size will accomplish the same as changing the differential... Maybe Jim

My math is a little different. I seem to get a 16% increase in engine speed so that if I figured correctly would be substituting a 195/50 tire for the 195/65 tires that I presently have. I will have to give that some thought.

Anyway rudolph has a 346 I can buy if I want to.

Anybody interested in a 358 for their 240d to reduce engine speed 3%?....I guess maybe that wouldn't be enough to fool with.
