parts

Go on NYC craiglist, and search mercedes diesel. Last time I looked there was a guy parting out a mid '80's MB. Queens, I think. You'll find something.

I can get you Items 1 & 3; however, Memphis, TN is a bit more than 5 hours. Of course, there are trucks (and planes) leaving here everyday for NYC.

best way to move big items like the fender is on a greyhound bus. They travel under the bus, not too expensive, and you pick it up at another greyhound terminal.

I agree. I recently got a quote to move an entire door (including glass) about 80 lbs from Memphis to Buffalo, NY --- cost was $65

if you had asked about that driver's side fender 2 weeks back, I'd have said come and get it. There's a guy north of us on the other side of the Tapan Zee selling complete 240D with 4-speed in the 500$ range. Perhaps it can provide a fender and somebody else might want much of the rest. -CTH

Yeah, it is surrounded by scaffolding and wrapped in canvas. I hope it is unwrapped before the summer is over so I can go see it.

I was @ the gugie last week, poor FLW's creation is almost entirely obscured.

Olafur Eliasson is showing @ NYC MoMA, I cannot recommend this show more highly, I saw it in san fran over xmas and it was stunning.
