WTB - used rear shocks for a early 190D/190E

My 190D has set for a couple of years and the shocks have stiffened. I like a soft ride, so therefor looking for some slightly worn shocks that someone may have removed for more stiffer shocks for their 190.

I would simply buy new comfort Bilsteins, but not sure if those would offer the softer ride I want. This car is only driven at lower speeds in urban areas, so super handling is not my # priority.

Please contact me if you have some laying around that you would like to sell, that are a little worn down, that may have given your car a ride that was too soft for your tastes.

Thanks!

used rear shocks

I was cleaning out the garage last weekend, and didn't remember that I had saved these off my 84 190D:

KYB Gas-A-Just rear shocks, KG4548 FF22K, on my 84 190D for 20K miles, no leaks, good resistance on pushing in on them, and they expand out immediately.

Yours for $10/pair plus shipping. I'm in Baltimore, MD 21210.

Dave

(I will have for sale soon wheels that fit our 190s- five 14" european steel wheels and plastic covers 5J x14, four Borbet type C five spoke alloy wheels 7.5J x16 ET 30, five german five hole alloy wheels 7J x15 ET37, and four MB 15 hole alloy wheels 5J x14, the style that came on our cars).

Thanks. Do you remember how they felt when they were on the car? Was the ride soft/floaty? Or, were they ever on the car?

I am asking, because normally KYBs are stiff shocks. When I bought my other LS400 the PO had installed KYB GR-2s and the ride was very stiff. I knew a Lexus was not supposed to ride like that.

I went to the local Toyota dealer, picked up some OEM units and the ride was soft and supple again.

It may depend upon the brand of KYB's though.

Thanks.
