603 Parts

Lots to go through and list, here's a start.

603.970 ('91 350SDL / 3.5L), 256,000miles, ran well.

Pistons & rods, slight scuffing on some: $75

Camshaft: $65

Misc. other parts, trans is also available.

603.960 ('87 300D Turbo 3.0L) 247,000miles, ran well

Camshaft: $75

Edited.

I'm using the head, turbo, vacuum pump, front cover, and turbo from the .970 on the .960, everything else is going to go away. I'd rather find homes for the remaining parts than scrap them. The original .960 head is sold. I'll add to the list as I go through the boxes.

Do you have an intake or at least the X-over pipe from the turbo? I want to cut an X-over pipe for an intercooler and I don't want to cut up the one on the car with no way to go back to stock...

I have both. $40 for the pair, plus shipping seem fair?

You want my old intake to cut up? Mine has a stripped bolt so it doesn't seal well at all...

Did you use the 970 injectors on the "creation"?

Okay, I made the jump. After reading everything I could, I STILL bought a '90 350SDL. I know that I am facing a blown head gasket at the least, possibly more. The failure was an immediate catastrophic white plume, and I'm told that the oil consumption was not an issue beforehand, so we'll see. I've bought the car for a long term relationship, so I would like to get the .970 shortblock just to have around. How much with truck shipment to a business with freight docks in zip code 37922?

Interested in the Head

I have a bad head on my 87 300TD. I am very interested in your spare if it is still available.

I think he mentioned in the first post that the head was already sold. Used #17 (or newer) heads are hard to come by and not often cheap, often $800-$1200 and who knows what condition they will be in. A brand new #22 head can be obtained from the dealer for ~$1700 wholesale, if you intend to keep the car a long time, that would be the preferred option...
