FS: Attn. Non catalytic conv. drivers.

I have a diesel service customer who is an industrial chemist. - NOT to make a short story long but, we have a somewhat time limited opportunity, for those of us who have pre or non catalytic converter gas engines. Not just Mercedes Benz but any older car designed to run on leaded fuel.

How many forum members would be interested in getting in on a bulk purchase for some real tetra ethyl lead (not substitute) suitable to add to gasoline (off road use 'only' )?

Details: It would come in liter/quart size bottles with one bottle being enough to treat five gallons such that the true octane is increased 7-8 points, not 0.7 but a real change of 87 to 95-96 octane. Same applies to 'premium.' Start with 91 and end with 99 or something similar to aviation gasoline with a little more lead than 100LL. OR it can be used at 25% that ratio (every three or four tanks full) if you want to protect the valves, seats, etc.

The price will depend on our total order. It'll take my greatest negotiation skills but IF we have enough demand for 50 bottles I am pretty sure we can get them for well under $20 and possible under $15 ea. Shipping cost will be pretty standard - no hazmat fee and I might be able to handle the pick up myself.

So you are saying $15 a container, which treats 5 gallons. Or, 3 bucks a gallon on top of the price of the gas?

They banned lead in gasoline for good reason. You should be able to buy high test race fuel for $5.00 per gallon.

Eastern NC 100 Octane non leaded racing fuel, $7.80 per gallon and up.

Have a look at this page.

Also, NOT intended for diesel engines.

Less depending on the amount ordered. If you use it for protection of soft valve seats, as in older engines, $0.75 or less.
