Mercedes OM603 or 603 engine, 3.0 liter six-cylinder inline Turbocharged diesel with the pre-chamber design. This engine has a redline of 5,000 rpm. This is because of the low compression and that is why Mercedes used the per-chamber design.
Production years 1986 to 1997
From what I find this engine makes 157hp

300SD, 350SD, 350SDL, 190D, 300TD, and some of the AMG models

This engine was pulled from a boat about 2 months ago. It was pulled because it got warm and the engine made to much power for the hydraulic system on his boat. It was still running at the time of removal. It was overhauled just before it was installed The engine was installed for 2 years and has less then 100 hours on. So this is a great start for someone looking for a rebuild engine without the price. Just needs a little work. The pump was sent off and overhauled at the time of rebuild.

I am willing to break this apart if someone needs just a part or two
I am looking to get a $1000 out of this engine.
Production years 1986 to 1997

Sixto...

Do you have a place to store it? Do you live within 50 miles of the engine?

More like 120 miles. I don't have a convenient place for it but if it's on a rolling stand I can keep it in the back patio under a tarp.

I'll bet it's a passenger car engine dropped into a boat. Whatever marinizing was done wasn't done at the factory. Why would a factory marine engine have a trap manifold and EGR?
