Another Random Part need for my 72 450SL

Ok the little knob that goes over the lever for the center vents, sits right above the radio and center console. I may be wrong but I think it has a white arrow, anyone have one? Let me know

wow, that's a pretty wide knob...

Are they the same for all years?
would they be the same as the W126 knobs?

Jim

OK brain fart.... 1/4-3/8 inch wide
not sure, I think they were particular to the 107's or at least particular to the early 70's Benz

Ron,
My '76 has the same knob...yes it does have a white arrow on it. Unfortunately I don't have an extra one...but at least you know the '76 had it too...hopefully someone is parting a car and has one for you. At least yours is an easy fix once you find one...I saw today one of my heat sliders is broken off where the plastic knob fits into the slider for the climate control...looks like that's going to be a trick to fix. Hope someone has the knob you are missing.

BTW, I got my car to start but had power direct to my fuel pump...still can't figure out why 12V isn't getting back there on the factory harness. I think there may be a wiring problem as 12V isn't getting to the FP relay...maybe a mouse got me...still tracking the problem but decided to start getting some parts back on it so I can feel like I'm getting something accomplished...with the new paint job, the car looks real good. Now if I can just get it to run right...

wow sweet paint job, you will get that electrical gremlin sooner or later. Thanks for the heads up on the years for the knob. What makes me so mad is that I had it and when I was retrofitting my old/new becker - it vanished. I think it fell into the bowels of the center console, but at this time dont have the energy to remove the whole thing to look. Last time I took it off I found all sorts of stuff! I had a lever break and I was able to use epoxy to get her back together, they dont have a lot of pressure on them and it has lasted a long time. Continued good luck to you!

Talking

Ron,

The one on my '72 parts car is still there if you need it. How does $100.00 sound?

Just kidding. Know how to remove it without damage? No white arrow on it, just a black rectangle. PM your address and I will mail it.

Jim
