any interest in a set of 617 used pistons?
I have a complete set of pistons from a 1984 617 turbo diesel. They are still in the block, i still need to remove the head to pull them.I will do so if someone is interested. The car had zero blowby, and i can mic them once they are out. Provided that they are good, is anyone remotely interested? They would come with the rod and piston rings still attached. I would like 100 bucks for the set, or 20 bucks apiece.
Thanks Rory

Turbo? I've aways wanted one for a paper weight, but only if it's to worn to be re-used.

Why not just sell the complete motor?

I used parts of it to keep the family fleet running.I also sold several parts online. The crank ended up being out of spec, and i didn't have the resources to repair it

pistons only
how many miles on the engine? My 80 300SD has 228000 plus six years, it is not starting cold, I might have a little problem. Why the pistons rings, only, your crank might be better than mine? If you do pull them, ring clearance would have to be < 5/8 of wear spec. I guess 84 and 80 interchange, maybe 84 is better actually if they will fit. The chances of interchange are better if I buy con rods too.
