This is a thermostat valve that is located between the radiator and the intake maifold. It is also refferd to as an auxilary valve. It has two approx 1 inch diameter black hoses attached to it. The valve is attached with two 8mm bolts. Part number 0280140032

To test the valve simple set the bottom part of the valve in boiling water and look into the opening of the vale to see if the thermostat closes. Please let me know if you have a good one available. this valve is used on all the 450SE/SEL/SL/SLC as well as the 6.9. It may be on the 350 engine as well, but Im not sure.
