My 1987 2.3 16v will be for sale soon. I have some things to finish on it before sale. It has a rebult engine (by me) using all factoy Mercedes parts. Not 1 aftermarket part was installed. I installed new rings, new bearings, new oil pump and all gaskets, and a valve job. The engine was assembled using Mobile 1. It will run synthetic its whole life I hope.
This car has an amazing sound system with 10 speakers and a few amps.
The ride is great I just installed new accumulators.

Benzmac dropped by the house last weekend in his newly rebuilt 16v. I've got to say, this is one sharp looking little Benz. Very clean inside and out and 'natch, it runs like a top.
We'll be doing a writeup of it as soon as we can but, in the mean time here are some pics:

Benzmac:

Looks sweet! I'm curious about the exhaust -- What are you running there? How's the sound (I'd like something with a bit of a rumble to it -- was thinking of Remus). Were they pretty much "bolt-on"? Any other mods to your exhaust system?

Thanks!

Brian

Lorinser from the cat back that is...

Look for a review of the 16v in the near to semi-near future if it isn't sold first.

I am curious as to how much the Lorinser exhaust was and where was it purchased? Is it a 100% stainless steel system?

Great looking automobile!

I bought my 87 16 valve with the same exhaust...for those wondering about the sound...it has a slightly-muffled throaty sound at full throttle (not too harsh like so many Hondas running around). But the best part is the wonderful undertones produced in the 2500-3500 range. This is on an exhaust system still containing the precats and cat. (I will let you know if straight pipe makes any sound difference soon)

My question deals with the tail lights...are those the all red aftermarket lens? Mine look different and I want to get rid of my "rainbow" look...

BocaBenzs:

Get a set of smoked taillights. I've got them on my 1986 2.3-16V (Pearl Black) and they look AWESOME!!!
