You are late to the party. I would suggest you getting in your truck and driving like a mad man to Memphis, then renting a trailer and hauling it home, if you want what's left.

Have said that, I don't think the front and rear glass would be worth the trip. I can stick a right rear door on a pallet for you. Mirrors are available as I recall. The door "checks" would be something I pull today unless you call me and tell me you are taking the whole carcass. The wheels are tentatively spoken for unless someone buys the whole carcass. I'm guessing the wheels are the normal 15inch w126 Gen II rims. The blue w126 gasser will be next and it has a set of bundts on it.

PM sent.

some of the stripping .....

Well, I got a few parts stripped yesterday.....

If you see anything you want, please let me know.

I will point out that I found a complete w126 BLUE carpet and mat set --- yes, 2 foam backed "mats" and 4 Mercedes Benz carpets. They cleaned up well.

The wood is not great, there are some cracks.

I also pulled some parts for specific forum members.

If the burl trim wasn't already spoken for, how does it look in person, and how much do you want?

Mine is broken on all the dash pieces, particularly bad on the one just below the instrument cluster, and the far right piece around the vent.

Out of curiosity, what is the item just below the coil, and above the wind deflector?

The burl trim is NOT already spoken for --- will send you an email.

Curiosity killed the cat, huh? That is a cassette holder that snaps inside the center console. I really should have linked that pic to a different thread as well as the pic of the odometer. I was tired last night. I'll put those in the correct thread now.

@Renntag...
I'm also in Arlington, VA and could use a few parts... if you are contemplating a trip to Mephis or having any of the large parts shipped, maybe we can work together on this. Of course, the biggest item that I will need is the chrome from the bumpers... assuming that some are available and not spoken for.

@Daw_two,

I need a few items. More specifically, i need:

Door Striker - rear passenger side (with mounting bolts)
Front bumper chrome - if condition is OK. Mine has two big rust spots
Grey Coin tray
Plastic box surrounding shift console
(Mine is for a 4 speed auto with a "B" position to start out in first gear)

Any luck? I'm located in Arlington, VA... so I would need to have the parts shipped.

I'm going to the parts car in a few minutes --- I will look. I KNOW I do not have a grey coin tray out there because both of the interiors are blue. I might have a decent grey coin tray in my stock items though in the garage.

I apologize to all those waiting on my to pack and ship parts --- this week has been crazy; wife was sick, she's feeling better today.

Arrow Silver Car ---- last call

Last Call on the Silver Car before it heads to the crusher. Here are the details of what is happening:

Forum member mhin1956 is joining me in the morning. We will be removing the rearend, rear sway bar, springs, and rear trailing arms. He has dibbs on the driver's side rear trailing arm.

The rearend (pumpkin) is tentatively spoken for --- forum member in California who has emailed me in the past.
86560SEL wants the fuel sender.
DeliveryValve has already gotten all the 2 prong plugs.
The sunroof parts are toast.
Forum member in Texas has dibbs on the wheels.

Anyone wants the doors or bumpers --- speak NOW and pay me today. I will not ship; however, I may deliver. I have "road trips" in a truck planned later this summer to the following:
Evansville, IN area
Southern Michigan area.
Northern Illinois area.
Slight detours are possible to drop valuable parts off to forum members.

mhin1956 and I spent all morning and half the afternoon. We performed the following:

Removed the rear suspension on the silver car --- he needed a driver's side trailing arm for his 300SD. Undo shocks at top with the car down. Raise car up and use jack under the springs --- undo bottom of shock. Undo the rear swap bar. Take wheels off. Drive axles out. Place jack under the pumpkin. Undo rear mount of pumpkin (rearend). We were lucky the driveshaft was already disconnected. Then undo the two small bolts and the one BIG bolt that holds the leading edge of the rear suspension in place. When I got the first small bolt out the water started pouring out, so much that I put the bolt back in while mhin1956 finished removing the bolts on his side (downhill from me). Lower pumpkin, axles, and rear suspension all in one piece.

We then removed the trailing arms. Then while the pumpkin was draining, we played with a different project of mine. Came back removed the axles from the pumpkin. Removed the front wheels. The silver car is ready to go to the scrapyard on Monday. We were done about 11ish. It really helps to have a moveable "lift" --- I love playing with the forklift.

So, now what are we going to do. Well, there is one forum member who had an interest in the lumbar support bladders in the blue w126. And I wanted to save the wheels (bundts) off of it and the outside mirrors. Now, the shop guy really wants this stuff to go away, so we got busy on the blue w126. The rear bolts of both seats had issues with extraction. The driver's side was rusty --- very rusty. The passenger side the seat was in the reclining position. No way to get under there. I cut on the underneath side for awhile......then we decided we were going about the extraction the wrong way. Then it happen..... .... yes, the light came on .... Now when you hear me say, "I have an idea", be prepared. Here's the new method of extracting seats out of a parts car:

Amazing though, how tough the bolts are that hold the seat to the floor. Naturally, once, we learned where to hook the chain, the seats came out faster. I was able to pull the front bar that runs from side to side at the leading edge of the seat off without the rear bolt breaking on the driver's side. Success was mine, though.

Oh, and I picture of me .....being visually challenged.
