WTB: A couple of W123 parts
dimmer/rheostat in cluster, good rack damper pin (the gold one!!), and a blem free dash.
Let me know!! |
You should really buy a new rack damper. I have a used one... but why go there? Try lubing yours by removing it and squirting thick oil onto the piston and retracting it repeatedly. If that doesn't smooth it out, buy a new one.
PS - you should be able to get alot of oil / grease in there. |

not the shocks, the motor mounts. The shocks primarily help with shutdown and startup or any severe, sudden shakes.
Shocks can be annoying b/c of stripped allen bolts, the mounts are not that difficult.. but require the removal of the shocks... I guess its a 5/10 on the PITA-o-meter. |

I took your advise. My pin actually seemed okay when I removed it. I reinstalled it, then bottomed it out only to have the idle smooth up a bit at that point. So I can just visually inspect the mounts, huh? How do you remove the mounts and shocks? I suspect a floor jack is required. |
dont waste money on a rheostat, just solder a wire across its two terminals.
