I'm after some door lock cylinders to suit an 84 SD. My drivers door lock is inoperable with the key. Of course I realize I'll have to change out both doors and can live with different trunk/glovebox keys.
Also interested if anyone has any suggestions on front seats ? Mine are palamino leather, which have cracked and sagged. The center armrest is also in order.

You might try taking out the door lock cylinder and taking it to a locksmith. He will probably be able to fix the lock so you can use your key. Mine did not open with the key for a couple of years and this is what I finally did. Works fine now, some 8-10 years later. Or it could be a combination of the locksmith working on the lockset and the key both. In any event I bet that will work for you. 81 300SD

This is not an unusual problem for these MB cars. If you buy used, you may find yourself with the same issue on the used parts.

The locksmith suggestion is good. You can also buy the whole door handle + lock assembly here on FastLane. When I did that, it was a Mercedes-brand OEM part, not a cheap Chinese/Indian replica part.
