Flushed?

Have you back flushed the radiator from the outside, both from the front and rear?? Also have you tried running the aux. fan all the time to see if that brings the temp down. Have you checked the clutch on the engine fan?? Jim

If you do end up going the route of getting a different radiator, you are going to be better off getting a new one. The plastic nipple on the top gets brittle after a while.

I Flushed The Rad a couple of times using a garden hose in the neck and where the upper rad hose connects, I got ALOT of rust out of it.

As far as the Aux Fan I JUST Jumped it this afternoon, so I'll find out when I take the car out tonight if it helps, I know the aux fan wasn't working at all thanks to my a/c system not holding pressure, It would hit 110C and the fan wouldn't come on, then I filled the A/c and the fan worked for about 2 days then it stopped.

a mech checked the rad out and used a Handheld Infirred Themometer and said There were multiple cool spots.

Does anyone know what it would take to adapt my '80 to the '81-'85 cooling system? I like the idea of the coolant reserve tank.

Thanks

Forrest

The radiator install should be pretty straight forward. Working in the lower hose for the recovery tank and the recovery tank itself with your evil climate control servo in the way might be an issue. You certainly will have some custom brackets for the recovery tank made.

I have a good '82-85 radiator and recovery tank. PM me if interested.
