Aki:

What did you finally end up getting ($-wise) for your 16V? Was also wondering why the price was so low. My '86 is considered "pristine" with ~86k miles and I wouldn't let it go for less than $13k (I also have many upgrades). Now that it's sold, you can divulge if there were/are any problems with the car. I'm in Campbell, and was planning on swinging by to see your ride, but never got the chance - oh well . . . Did you sell it to a local buyer? Maybe I'll see it on the road someday.

Thanks!

Unhappy Feel sad to let go!

Hi Brian,

I sold my 16v to a gentleman in Concord, CA through eBay. I was forced to sell my 16v due to unforeseen economic hardship. In fact, my 16v is in very good condition inside and out. I had my entire engine rebuilt and updated all major component such as timing chain tensioner. When the gentleman was test-driving my 16v, he was amazed by its performance and power. He and his wife couldn't believe I really sell it at that price either. I knew the price is the lowest anywhere in US with this condition. Anyway, I have only my 83's Audi quattro (Ur-quattro) left. It is in Mars red color. I usually do the service in Campbell, M&M Audi House. Maybe we will meet someday on the road. Thanks for your reply.

Regards,

Aki

Hi Aki:

Unfortunately I know all too well what you mean by "economic hardship". In Silicon Valley it seems to be an all-too-common phrase. Hopefully things will be looking up for us in the high-tech industry this next coming quarter. We lost 1/2 of the folks in my engineering group back in August. I think only half those folks have gotten jobs since then -- VERY SCARY ! Take care.
