Any Interest In Lot Of W116 Parts?

I used to own a 1979 W116 300SD. It was a great car and I miss it, but I sold it in order buy a sunroof fintail I had my heart set on. The seller ended up wanting more money than I could afford, but I already sold my car for $726 to help save for it. The 300SD was almost rust-free, had Euro lights, manual window conversion, great interior, perfect mechanical condition with almost everything gone through and serviced or replaced...

While I had the car I acquired about half of a small storage unit space worth of spare parts for it in case it ever needed it (spent way too much time and money acquiring them, too).

After selling the car I have been selling some of the parts on eBay. So far, after paying eBay's fees, having shipping cost more than I quoted, having things get damaged during shipping, and not getting much money for parts anyway, I have given most of it away for nothing and in some cases paid people to take the parts off of my hands.

I also pay $50 a month for my half of the storage unit. I definitely am not making $50 a month from the sale of the parts. Sometimes it costs me money to "sell" parts, if I am lucky enough to make no money. If I gave it all away or took it to the dump I would probably be ahead because I would be saving $50 a month by not having to pay for part of the storage unit.

Sad, huh? Would anybody be interested in loading up a truck or trailer with these parts and using them for your own, for trading stock, or to try to resell for profit (good luck)?

I am just trying to gauge interest now before I decide what to do with these parts. Here is some of what I have: spare doors, trunk, steel and aluminum hoods, complete glass sets, boxes of rubber parts, boxes of trim, boxes of interior parts, boxes of electronic parts, several complete manual heat control assemblies from Euro models, steering columns (one for a column shift model), just lots of stuff that I don't care to spend time and money to list for sale, only to take a loss on.

I am thinking maybe $300 would cover it all. I also have a complete OM617.95 turbo diesel engine and transmission, as well as a 1967 230S fintail with trunk rust and no engine that I will probably be selling because my 1968 200D is sucking me dry.

Let me know if you are interested. I sold a pretty good set of Euro lights for $50 (a steal, yet about the only thing I actually got some real money for), only to have them get broken in shipping and will need to refund the buyer. Just another example of "why bother to sell piece-by-piece?"

The parts are located in Tacoma, Washington State, USA.

These parts are in a storage unit that I can almost never access. The reason is I share it with a roommate who doesn't pay his share and so they lock us out and if I want to access anything I have to pay my roommate's share plus a late fee.

I just want it all gone at once. Shipping is way too much of a hassle. I have to locate shipping boxes, spend lots of time packaging things, I measure and weigh the parts in the boxes and give a shipping quote, and then when I go to ship the shipping ends up being way more than I quoted, so if I made any money at all, the shipping eats into it.

Then, when the parts arrive to the buyer they either get damaged in shipping or the buyer isn't happy with the condition of the item, etc., so I have to refund money... I am just so sick of it.

I have come to discover that parts for old Mercedes are practically worthless. I do have some parts for sale on eBay, but have been getting offers of $1. For the eBay fees, my time to package, the difference between quoted and actual shipping, etc., it would have been cheaper just to throw them away.

I am interested.

But I live in TX.

The drive up here and back would probably cost as much as the parts are worth. I may be buying another 300SD. If this is the case, I will end up keeping these parts. I have so much time and money into collecting these parts that I should use them for something.
