FS and delivery parts; July 2nd --- "Northward" trip

EDIT 06/28/2010 --- route re-done.

Leaving Germantown, TN on July 2nd
I'm delivering a transmission to a forum member --- hopefully, I can get it loaded today.
then picking up some things in Hudson, WI
then
driving toward Madison, WI.

On July 3rd:
Delivering the front w123 Palomino Seats to Middleton, WI
then
picking up items purchased in Dixon, IL
then
picking up items puchased in Evansville, IN
then
heading home.

I'm willing to "wiggle" some in my journey, but ideally meet along my direct route if you want to purchase any of the BIG items listed below. So, now's your chance to purchase something BIG (things I won't ship) and have me personally deliver it to you. I have the following BIG items for sale. ASKING prices are listed:

1984 300D parts car --- complete rolling chassis; FRONT SEATS are Sold
Numerous 14 inch hubcap friendly wheels (some with old tires) $40 each
Several 14 inch bundts $25 each
I have 4 good w123 doors $80 each
one w126 2.47 rearends --- $150 each
matched set of aluminum rear trailing arms --- $250 for both; $150 each
w126 1982 300SD aluminum trunk lid $150
w126 1982 300SD transmission -- sale pending
w126 Palomino front seats --- $400 (very good)
w126 Black front seats ---- $300 (good)

Email is preferred way to contact me.

Anyone???

It looks like this trip is going to be more of a "pickup" trip than a delivery trip.

Front seats extracted along with some trim tabs, loaded in truck, and covered with plastic.

Hopefully loading the transmission today.

Transmission was loaded on Monday and covered with plastic. I hope those "ramp boards" are waiting on me.

I'm home.

Thanks to all the Forum members for your help in making my trip successful. It's good to be home; covering 1855 miles in less than 57 hours is painful.

I saw some interesting things during my trip. Some of the memorable items are:
  • Big bales of hay in the median of the interstate; maybe a US hwy. I've always thought we could be using all that real estate for something useful.
  • Being stopped by a very slow moving train wasn't so bad.
  • All of the "northward" rivers are out of their banks. Is this "normal" or are you all having some summer flooding?
  • The St. Croix River between Bayport, MN and Hudson, WI is very beautiful. It's been a while since I've seen a draw bridge where the span goes straight up.
  • An old Montlhery -- I did not bring it home.
  • Windmill farm.

OH. I almost forgot.
Here's some pics of the stuff I picked up.

Hey

A lot of that looks familiar ;-)

Stillwater is nice and that blue car has been sitting at Hwy65 and 120th street for the 4 years that I have lived here. They have some other neat stuff there too.

It was good to meet you. Wish you had time to hang out in Hudson and go to Winzer Stube for dinner.

Yes, the rivers are high right now, but not as ba as in early April.
