Christmas Parts Sale
Greetings Forum Members,
I've been away from this site for quite a while. I had to take a hiatus from my hobby and focus on keeping my business on track in this economy. I miss the information sharing in the forums. I've just been maintaining my vehicles and setting up my garage for now. I have some $$ saving info from Advance Auto Parts. Yesterday, Christmas Eve, I was headed out to grandma's house when my check engine electronics light came on(210/E420). Fortunately I was only a couple of miles from home. I returned home and plugged in my engine scanner to bring up the trouble code...#2 cylinder missfire. From experience I concluded that it was probably a bad coil pack. Where can I find a coil pack for my car 3:30 PM Christmas Eve? The local foriegn auto parts stores and local Stealers where all closed. The only posibilities where AutoZone and Advanced Auto Parts, both open until 5:00 PM. I called around. AutoZone had Duralast brand coil packs in stock and Advanced Auto Parts had in stock BWD/Intermotor coil packs. I prefered Bosch but that wasn't an option at this hour if I was to continue my trip the same day. To cut to the chase I opted for the Advanced Auto Parts BWD/Intermotor coil pack. When I opened the box to my suprise the coil pack had a Bosch logo next to the part number which matched the MB pack I was replacing. Of course the MB coil pack also had a star and a MB part number stamped on it. In short, the Advanced Auto Parts BWD/Intermotor coil pack is a Bosch product. From 12/26-12/26 Advance Auto Parts is having a 20% off everything ordered on line picked up in store or delivered. This can amount to a significant savings on their quality poducts, i.e. Bosch, Moog, NGK, Nenso, Mann, etc. . I think they're worth checking out. Merry Christmas, Knarf
